I know you like her,
well I like her too,
I know she likes you,
Its not as if Im being sent off to war,
Theres worse things in this world.

If you know me, (which Im guessing you dont), then you will instantly know that any song with an opening verse like that is immediately going to shoot to the top of my favourites list. I could go on about how I relate to the lyrics and all that nonsense but Ill spare you the heartache. Maybe next time.

This is Belle and Sebs (as we affectionately call them over here!) first release since the excellent Legal Man e.p. in 2000, and its taking us further down the winding road that is Belle and Sebastian. What I mean by that is, yes, its another change of direction. This tune is a step more up-beat than a lot of their previous material.

Stuart Murdochs voice is still there and as heartbreaking as ever. Sweet and tuneful with a lush backing track gently carried along by a pedal-steel (I think, Im not an expert on instruments) that is defiantly reminiscent of that Del Shannon song, you know, Runaway.

With the naïve lyrics and catchy tune, this is the twee indie hit of the summer. Put it in your Walkman, lie on your back in a field full of daisies and daydream til it gets dark.
